Every question, a rabbit hole.
A client asks something between meetings. You open six tabs, dig through PDFs, second-guess the wording, and rewrite it three times so it sounds like you. The answer was always there — it just cost you an hour.
-
Six tabs, no clear answer.
You know the answer is in there somewhere. Finding it is the hour you did not have.
-
Is this current? Says who?
Before anything goes to a client, you need to know where it came from.
-
Now make it sound like me.
Even a good answer still needs rewriting before it is ready to send.

Sample answer
Start with what changed for them since the last review: family, work, income, goals. Bring each existing policy with its purpose in plain words, the questions the client raised last time, and one or two topics worth raising yourself. Keep the first five minutes for listening. Then check the notes against your own file before the meeting.

Sample answer
Term covers a set number of years and is meant for a need that has an end date, such as a loan or children growing up. Whole life is meant to stay for life and also builds a cash value. Ask what they want the cover to do before you compare the two, and check the product terms before you send anything in writing.

Sample answer
Ask what part they want to think over, so you know whether it is the need, the amount or the timing. Offer to send a one-page summary of what you discussed and agree on a date to follow up. Do not push; a clear next step respects their pace and keeps the conversation open.

Sample answer
Reach out early and keep it simple: say a payment is due, say what happens if it is missed, and offer to help them sort it out. Confirm the details against the policy record before you call. Note the conversation in the client file afterwards.
